You wouldn't call me out if I had a long, stressful day at work & wanted to take a bath (epsom salt & candles & a cheesy reality show with it, thank you very much) at the end of it, would ya? 🛁🧖♀️

Ok, now what if I started taking baths like all the time, & it was the only thing I wanted to do? 😬
My skin was getting pruney, I never saw my friends, I only spent time in the tub, & subsisted on offshoots of 90 day fiance? 🥵
You might start to get concerned about me, being the kind person you are, yea?
It's not a perfect analogy, but eating when stressed or in high emotional states is similar.
🔑 There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but when it's damaging your health, mental &/or physical, when it's impairing your life, & when you feel out of control, it IS an issue.
➡️ Here are 3 ways it's NOT wrong, & 3 actions to take if you feel it is affecting your wellbeing.
Reason #1: It's a natural response to seek pleasure & comfort in times of stress or emotional distress.
Action: Let go of the belief that YOU are 'bad' or 'wrong' for eating a certain way.
Reason #2: Your brain is wired to find the quickest way to immediate pleasure, & hyper-palatable foods like sugar, salt, & fat are easy ways to get it.
Action #2: Find other ways of pleasure & self-care that ultimately serve your health & wellbeing.
Reason #3: There is nothing wrong being emotion, having strong feelings, or being stressed.
Action: Accept whatever emotions or problems are coming up without judgment or criticism.
As you can see, none of these require willpower, strain, or punishment.
No specific diet or set of rules.
If you want to create healthier habits in your life so you can look & feel good in your body (which you deserve!), you need to make changes from the inside out.
