The Best Thing I Ever Did for My Health

I want to share with you the most important thing I ever did for my health (it's probably not what you think either)...


When I was younger & struggling with a full-blown eating disorder, you know what the hardest part was?


Accepting it as a real problem.


I didn't want to think I had a problem. I told myself I could wait until things got 'really bad' before I made any changes. I didn't want to change.


Why?

Because it was familiar, & it was comfortable, & it let me live in my own warped reality.


Of course, there are so many other serious factors that came into play, but I do know the hardest part was...


Accepting it as a real problem.


It took YEARS before I finally recovered, through lots of trial & error, seeking, learning, & practice.


But the first step was acknowledging, 'Ok, this is not good. I need to change or my life is at stake.'

Now you might not have the same struggles I had, but the same lesson applies.


As long as we are in denial about what is really happening, & dishonest about the real pain & consequences of our health situation, we will NEVER get better.


& I want to remind you today, as much as I tell myself, you always have a choice.


You can stay in the familiar pain.


Or you can make a change, with different results.


There is always hope, & you always have a choice.
